Is there any way to change a name completely on an "Orbitz" travel package to one person can replace another?

I am traveling to Aruba August 20th, 2008 and one of my travel partners is no longer able to go. Is there any way to get another person on her Boarding passes to go to Aruba? Is there any way we could get that plane ticket money back without canceling the entire package? (Originally there were 4 people, now only 3.)

It depends on the terms and conditions of your package, but generally the answer would be no without significant charges. Any change in name would require a change fee and a ticket re-fare, if it's allowed at all.

Your friend may be able to get a travel credit, less the cancellation fee - but again it depends on the terms and conditions of the package you booked.
