Can i buy flight tickets through American webs if i live in Spain?

can i buy flight tickets through american webs (orbitz, cheaptickets) to travel to NYC if i am from (and live in) spain? is there some legal restriction? thanks!

Some sites do have restrictions, but if you go to the individual airline website, there will be no problem.

you can buy tickets if the site allows credit card with international billing address.

Sure can. It's the internet!

I live in Europe too and when I try to use some American sites to buy tickets, they kind of freak when I type in the city. Another hint; when they wont let you get to the page without putting in the two letter state abbreviation.

Careful as there are a lot of American cities named after European ones so you type yours' in and are wondering "Gosh, these seem cheap..." because they think you're flying from Pennsylvania, not transatlantically.

What's really annoying is when they detect that you're in whatever country and automatically give the site in that language. Okay, I speak the language but prefer to do it in English. Even in you type in dot com, it wont let you visit that site. Tripadvisor and Ryan Air do this. Arrrrrrggggghhh!

But the two you cited, Orbitz and Cheaptickets were fine and gave me flights (not at the best price but still) and Expedia has a local site. Here's yours';

Many of them do have European sites but again, hope you speak Spanish... Some of the airline sites are smart. They actually ask you 1. your country and separately, 2. your language. Yeah!

I will warn you that transatlantics out of Europe are mega expensive this year due to both fuel and popularity with the low dollar. Even people flying off season and to closer places are paying what I did. Now I don't feel so bad for what I paid!

I usually do better with a local travel agency than I do with those cut-rate websites. I've also bought directly from the airlines' sites but no luck with that this year.

Here's a Belgian site I found that was good but it's in French. I got an agent to match their price so I went with that but here it is;

Belgian travel companies have the reputation of getting good deals so do a search and I'm sure you can find a company who speaks English.

Happy shopping!
