Has anybody used Orbitz for hotel? Did you have to pay at the hotel?

I booked a hotel through Orbitz and it look like they charged my card before the travel date. Does it mean I don't pay at the hotel?

When you make a reservation on Orbitz, if you booked an 'Orbitz Special Rate', you have prepaid room & tax up front. That means that you won't have to pay at the hotel, although you will probably still be asked for a credit card or deposit for any possible incidental charges, like room service, phone calls etc. Usually the exact charging procedures are explained somewhere through the booking process, but if you booked online it could be easy to miss the small print.

You should also go back to your itinerary/confirmation on Orbitz or the one that will be emailed to you for exact details on your cancellation policy, too. Sometimes these prepaid rates have stricter cancellation policies - if something happens & you need to cancel, you don't want to be caught in the lurch. :)

No, I work for a hotel that participates in the Orbitz Special Rate program. :) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20061122055356AA3YV8f&kid=EMN_W2G4VTBAb8E96803POWk6T5YY2Ism6ldUyOeOEl2C2OgThKw&s=comm&date=2006-11-23+07%3A49%3A55&.crumb=

no but at every hotel u have to pay to get a room

I've booked hotels, rental cars and trips using online booking agencies. They usually charge your credit card and all your have to do is check-in at the hotel or airport.
